Yulgilbar Book

Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud celebrates its 50th birthday and in collaboration with well known Quarter Horse historian and author, Karen Thrun, has produced a “must have” book called, “Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud 1962-2012”.
The book is full of history pertaining to the early days of the Quarter Horse breed plus wonderful personal insights about Yulgilbar Horses from the people who owned, trained and showed them to great success. Data on 700 horses bred and owned by Yulgilbar as well as wonderful photos from the early 60’s to today will enlighten the reader on Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud’s influence on the Quarter Horse industry in Australia.
Packed full of comments and stories from some of Australia’s best horsemen and women, the book covers all types of disciplines and events, even some of the earliest sales and displays. Reading the book is like a walk down memory lane to some of us and to those new into Quarter Horses, it is a reminder of how far the western style of riding has come and who helped to nurture it along the way.
“Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud 1962-2012” is also a love story. It’s the story of Sarah Myer and her love of horses and passion for the Quarter Horse. From a young age she loved to ride and the passion has never faded. Her affection also spans to cattle and the renown, Yulgilbar Santa Gerturdis Stud which is one of the original studs in Australia.
“Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud 1962-2012” is a great read and would make the ideal Christmas gift. The official launch of the book will be held in late October and can be purchased for $50 plus postage. Please place your orders by emailing elgee@pac.com.au or phone 03 5989 7338.
